Hi

does anyone have any experience in creating very high quality geo sites and preferably specific expertise in doing so? If so, could you PM me with any examples and more information on cost if you make them for other people.

Would only consider people who have experience in this area with prior sites. Budget wise we can discuss.

Thanks

Great site ....and the weather in Norwegian:D:D:D

Used to pay the met office for a feed until I worked out I could get a more accurate and more frequently updated feed for free from Norway. Just had a landscaping company visit to quote on doing my back garden and got told they use our weather forecast for scheduling work as it is more accurate than all the others - many others have said the same.

I have little understanding of weather forecasting but to the best of my knowledge they all use exactly the same readings from exactly the same weather stations to work from then the only differentiating factor is the computer model they use to *try* and predict the future.

I too used to pay for a weather forecast from the Met Office for Bridgend weather, but later found it was actually the forecast for a port 15 miles away. The yr.no forecast we now use (same as alderley edge) is actually for the correct location, appears to be far more accurate, and gives an hourly forecast. Far better.

I think alderleyedge.com (mreeves) is the best all round Geo in the country at the moment, kingsroad.co.uk (cutmedia) has pretty good local offers, if you are looking for a pure news site then probably the ventnorblog.com, though there are lots of examples of these (see http://openlylocal.com/hyperlocal_sites for a list of news sites). There is more experimentation in the US, a favourite of mine is http://thebolditalic.com/

Of course I'm quite pleased with ours too :)

Met office is becoming Open Data - have a nose at their 'datapoint' stuff, however the model alot rather than proper readings.

I bought one of these bad boys :

Get the ethernet setup and can then stream direct to site / twitter etc

Rob I've done a bunch of geo sites and sold them to City-Visitor.com

Just sold my geo taxi network also.

Drop me a line if you need a hand.
