Currently have SEAT Alhambra TDi, it's been a good old girl for years but time for a change.

Needs to be 7 Seat beast really, so either another new Alhambra or VW Sharan - does anyone have one of the gangster looking type aka Nissan Quashqui jobs?

Thanks.

Surely the GL is big enough?.. Awesome road presence in one of those!

:)

we have one of them vauxhall zafira things on the go - handbake is boss, really looks and feels like one of them gear things in a plane, so i can pretend to be a wing commander when i park.

doesn't look too much different in size from what you have, we've not had a problem with it, worth your time at least to test drive or kick the tyres on.

What about a 7 seater Land Rover Defender? There's probably better cars in terms of ride and comfort but they're proper beasts and a true bloke car.

Friend has a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and loves it.Worth a test drive?

We have a zafira and an alhambra, the zafira is OK round town, but fully loaded we take the alhambra as there's more space.

If you want to be green, I think Nissan have just launched a 7 seater electric MPV.

Not long got a landrover discovery only a 2001 model but full service history.very happy with it.built like a tank.feel very safe being high up helps as well.

Can't really go wrong with an SMax / Galaxy.
Not silly money & the space is 2nd to none.
Probably one of the best value for money MPV's.

Seat Alhambra and VW Sharan must be worth a close look.

Are there any other Japanese 7 seaters? They tend to be the most reliable.

Had the previous generation Alhambra which was good.

Followed that with a Citroen Grand Picasso when they came out...I liked it but I am a fan of big Citroens - my ex wasn't that keen on it until she was hit hard by a moron in a 4x4; I was amazed how well the Citroen came off compared to the 4x4.

Next came a current style Alhambra which was great.

Now she has a new Nissan X-Trail which she likes but it doesn't have anywhere near as much space.

I need 5 proper seats all the time with large boot space and another person occasionally.

Its hard to beat the Alhambra for, just a bit boring..

I really prefer something German, not a fan of Ford or anything French.

Thanks all for your thoughts.

(right, now I can paste that link to my car adsense/affiliate site)

We've got a 2011 Alhambra SE Lux 180ish and it's works really well for us with lots of kids (or even adults).

Bought it about 15 months ago when it was about 3 years old, it's not been trouble free though - sunroof leak requiring £2k repair (paid for by Seat and the supplying dealer), new NOX sensor (paid for by approved used warranty), front suspension bushes needed replacing (I think this was the main dealer wanting the work, my mechanic friend said they were fine - but the warranty again paid so didn't bother to question it). Finally one of the electric sliding doors has been a bit dicky but this was fixed recently just before the warranty ran out with a software upgrade.

It's very nippy for a car of its size, the seats fold up and down to turn it from a bus into a van very easily and the interior is fairly robust. It is big and a twat to manoeuvre in a tight car park but overall despite the beef above we love it.
