as interesting for me is the fact that the org.uk, which gets an exact match bonus that the me.uk doesn't, only needs c400 links to be in position 3 compared to the c55,000 needed for the me.uk to get to position 2

shows the power of an exact match bonus

but agree lessons can be learned from the link building of the me.uk

Neither do I? Link profile looks dodgy to me. Amongst the sponsored theme footer links there are plenty of obviously paid links which even says how much they paid to secure them.

.me.uk = 675 linking domains
.org.uk = 55 linking domains

That grand national one as been there for ages, I seen Boxerdog got an hyphenated .me.uk ranked in the top 5 aswell 8)

That me.uk site has spent thousands on links over the last couple years. Though to be fair the majority of sites (I would say all, but I assume someone will argue and I can't be bothered) in the gambling niche are either buying links or doing in-content exchanges.
