Good .uk get (some) typeins too

I believe its the .co.uk which is the one which is flagged but the notice comes up on the .uk .

Both have been blacklisted :

SiteAdvisor is wrong. There's a single page of HTML with nothing "weird" on it. The other 7 scanners have passed it as clean. See http://sitecheck.sucuri.net/results/maps.co.uk#blacklist-status

More importantly, SiteAdvisor has proven to be a junk tool on countless occasions. There have been so many issues with it that complaints have even filtered into the Wiki article about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siteadvisor

That maybe the case but i thought id let you know because if your blacklisted in one of them , the others may follow suit which in turn will kill your traffic. Best to submit a removal request before that happens eh ?

SiteAdvisor are (in)famous for ignoring removal requests.

Just a quick follow up...

Maps(dot)uk has averaged 27 typeins a day since I switched it on, and aside from a small spike around the time this thread was last active, there's no evidence that the traffic is as a result of this thread... as you can see for yourself with this daily traffic breakdown:

Every one of my geo domains that I picked up in .uk has now had some typein traffic, including several that I didn't mention anywhere at all.

I think many people are underestimating, how many non-uk people will assume .es, .de, .fr and .uk not realising there is even a .co mixed in there, this has to account for many type ins ?

Yup, and depending what you're selling or doing traffic from foreign countries could be absolutely worthless to you.


At this point in the game I suspect the traffic will be coming from UK, but equally worthless - domainers and site builders typing in random generic.uk to see whats on them if anything...
