just a heads up
if you're paying for renewals, check whois as they are not getting renewed

they are blaming on 'registry' problems
their screwup, trying to pass onto nom

also on site their whois is not working and showing domains as taken when free so unable to reg

also when adding names to cart it fails at last stage

the only thing they are doing successfully is taking your money!

support is timely and good though, give them that

they seem to have gone through floor since webfusion or whoever 123 parent company was

I'm having trouble with Domain Monster tonight over a DOT COM, confirms my purchase but says is "pending" and still showing as available in WHOIS.

Tried it a second time they just debited me twice and still not regged.

Nightmare!

ain't both of those host europe ? so not surprised at all.

well I blame acorn members for this! lol
not kidding

I used to be with 123 and were horrific for years, people used to say if not getting own tag go to heart 'they're brilliant, never had any problems'
people bigged them up for years

well, let me tell you, the staff seem nice people I will give them that, much nicer than 123 or anywhere. they get back quick too

however, their infrastructure is FUCKED at heart
it took WEEKS of constant badgering to eventually get hundreds of domains transferred in
I LOST more than a few in process

so, their BULK TRANSFER tool does NOT WORK
they had to do manually

often dns changes have to be done second time

now registering domains does not work!

renewals don't work and have to check manually!

if you buy credits, funnily enough that works!

they still havent fixed this as say no 'administrators' in to fix

as an industry service, I have to say domain registrars are about the worst I have ever found in terms of the little they have do and the service that is received.
uk registars seem particularly shit

yes, so host europe seem to have taken the .uk registration space down the toilet

Ive tried to transfer a domain to someone (a .com) but it wont unlock,

I spoke to their support team who replied saying

"It appears to be a problem at our registrar's end, we'll need to wait for a response from them."

I am seriously thinking about leaving them now, as there seems to be more and more problems creeping in.

They was bigged up as independents but got gobbled up that deceptive bunch of wankers at host europe.

123-reg aka Host Europe was telling me it was a system problem that domains wasn't regged or renewed at least 5 yrs ago, I mean seriously how inept do you have to be to take a perfectly working system (dom monst) and infest it with your useless shite code (host europes).

Its a miracle no one had taken action for fraud or deception yet.

Guilty  I used to rate them back in the early days but no longer recommend them to anyone (for the reasons mentioned in the thread & having experienced most of them myself over the last 18 months or so).

on the phone to DM, they acknowledged the issue and asked me to wait 48 hours so they can tidy up their lost orders.

I said don't bother just give me a refund for both, magically it was registered and credited in 2 minutes!

Will be moving my domains asap.

this is only going to keep happening

they are still no closer to sorting any of these problems
skeleton staff at weekends

best way is to move all domains and then fire off snailmail letter to 'boss' and also getting threads like this out there indexed is always good to warn the british public where NOT to go

okay, i don't want a tag, the expense etc

so, is there a decent uk registrar?
where bulk transfers work, expired domains immediately delete from account and transferred domains?
where you can register domains etc, lol
you know the basics

daily?

I found in .com land the biggest devil of them all has been the better choice (godaddy) altho people swear by dynadot.

.co.uk, I'm out of options, the one I still maintain any names with is daily.co.uk, only had 1 or 2 problems there. I don't know about immediate account removal on tranfer but I do know on expiry names are removed within a few days normal so I assume they check from time to time.

cheers Skinner

yes, been in .com land longer than uk and godaddy and dynadot are about the best all round and use them
never use moniker, were great under Monte but are in the toilet now and have been for years

ftr, heart have fixed the registration issue now and are working to go back through renewals backlog
I hope they're checking back days to everyone who renewed manually and auto to see if done properly as they werent aware of problem until i told them!

I've had a Dynadot account for years and still have several domains with them, they have a great control panel for setting nameservers and 301 redirects etc, all very simple to use, and their support is excellent.

all sorted now

if anyone has renewed any in past few days I advise checking

one thing I hate is there doesn't seem to be an invoice in account where you can see what you recently renewed
have to add in text file yourself to doublecheck

Same.

Their re-seller account renewal system is playing up at the moment.

I've had a Directi (now known as Reseller Club) reseller account for years and not had any issues with my .com domains. Happy to look at a sub-reseller account for anyone who needs it, I don't think they are the lowest cost these days as the pricing seems to have increased over the years.

Anyone with a half decent portfolio of .uk's should really look at getting Nominet membership (and a a bonus you can vote no at the AGM if you join quick!)

I’d go with Daily for co.uk never use any of the Host Europe giant (123 reg, heart, domain monster etc) Every time you see complaints, bad service and general grief its often from one of there group? They have a if we can’t beat the competition buy them out and that tends to follow with there “if its broke ignore it” mentality as with all there acquisitions the standard of service just drops.

Name.com for TLD’s Dynadot I have found a little slow when you want registrar / registrant transfers especially so with non com ?

Heart's renew function is temperamental at the moment, some renew fine, but I've had to have staff do manual renewals over the past few days too. No logic to the problem!

Currently having a tete a tete with them over the breaking of their guarantee' of no price increase for services for loyal customers.
