Hi All

I wonder if anyone could give me any advice on the following. I bought a domain name off ebay back in December 2006, it went for £10. Its a nice .co.uk and I paid straightaway.

Seller uses the same host I do so I gave him my username and asked him to ask the host to do an internal transfer to my account. He did this but I was told by my host that, because I had a reseller account, I had to ask the domain owner to email them to request the internal transfer.

I informed the seller of this fact, to which he replied "I don't have time to do all this transfer lark, especially for £10. I will send you a full refund."

I emailed him back telling him that I didn't want a refund, and that if he wanted a higher price for the name, he should of set a reserve price.

I then opened a not recieved dispute, and he replied back to me saying that he had done the transfer and sent the paperwork.

2 weeks later, I have recieved nothing, and the domain is still not transferred.

Can I take this to Nominet?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Justin

The internal transfer itself would not be enough for legal ownership - they need to fill out full transfer forms for that.

You could print and complete the transfer form yourself and send it to the owner for him to complete his portion, I would also send him a SAE to give him a push :p

Print off the transfer form and fill your half in:

Form

Then send it to him with a letter saying he has x days to complete it and return it to you along with his confirmation letter (you will pay the transfer fee). Otherwise you will take further action :D

Also explain the .co.uk transfer procedure he might think its just like .com i.e. a account push.

thanks chaps, I did what you suggested, name under my control and forms on their way to Nom!

thanks again

Justin
