Is there a way to check the ownership (& change of) history of a .co.uk?

scene:

domain owned by company A
domain transfered to new owner B

two years later

owner b is to transfer it back to A, only to find that whois shows them (A) as all ready owning it.

bit weird as (B) had full control over the domain for the two years ....?

In a word "no" - but if you're directly involved (ie you're the registrant) then Nominet will probably tell you about changes made previously.

who.is sometimes shows the historic whois details if thats any use.

sounds like the tag was changed which allowed company B to gain technical control by performing an incoming transfer in their control panel but without performing the full registrant transfer through Nominet to update the user details?

Yes, I think that was the case. Thanks for your input.
