Hi,

I've got a bunch of domains through 123-Reg and in the past each time I registered a new one I used to log in to my Nominet account to merge them to one account.

Nominet have recently changed their site and I now cant figure out how to do this with the new interface.....can anyone help?

Am wondering if it's deliberate that this doesn't appear as an option now (ie so they can charge sellers more than one transfer fee for selling multiple names!)?

Thanks

I can't help sorry, but wondered this myself! It looks more cluttered now.

You can no longer merge accounts, just one long a-z list in separate boxes if they're with different registrars!

Thanks Ben, mine are with the same registrar though (and exactly the same registration details) yet are appearing in different boxes. Not sure if this classes as one account for the purposes of any transfer?

just put in a support call with them on this... 90% of my names are under the same registrant name (and registrar) but are seperated out into 5 different accounts on the new admin :(

I want merge back!

I emailed Nominet about this the other day. Fortunately for me I had merged all my accounts into one main account, just before the big website update at Nom. But I've registered / bought several names since then, and these are each now listed in a separate box (account) with no way to merge on their site. Very annoying - so I asked Nominet where the merge button had gone, and this is their reply:

With regards to merging, this is no longer a service that can be carried out by the registrant, you will need to contact your registrar to merge domain names for you.

I haven't tried contacting my registrar yet so don't know how easy it will be to achieve this - I imagine it will vary a lot with some registrars making it a simple task and others being as obtuse about it as they are with everything else to do with registering uk domains (naming no names of course.)

I've never understood the whole accounts thing at all, why can't there just be one Nominet account associated with each email contact we use at Nominet - which for most of us would mean one list of names in one account? Is that too simple for some reason?

I mailed them today and got the same kind of reply. Very frustrating and i am sure if they get 10 calls a day they will need to review this:)
