"yer eyes are bigger than ya belly"

"if you reg it they will come" !

Welcome.

"don't poke things in ya ear"

Wait at least half an hour after thinking you have discovered an unreg'd golden egg, as sometimes that is all the time it takes for it to turn into a steaming turd!

D:-D

It's funny, you can't wait too long or someone will get it, if you snap it up you might sit and there and think why? It depends what you're buying for, people on these forums all have a foot in domaining but it might not be their main thing.

The best with a domain is high traffic, previous website, good engine placing, good overture results for keyword in the 50,000 to 100,000 mark and good ov with extension, as well as brandable and a top keyword helps and a past, current or future market alongside a few other pointers.

How many of those you wish to encompass will denote your spend on setting up but you can start any way you want, it's your money, just think about it before you do, I did think a little but then I didn't really have to much as I bought brand domains, a lot of which I will brand myself.

If you see one of those unreg'd Lee, LET ME KNOW! :p

I picked up three off of here with 15000 keyword traffic (note keyword not ovt with ext.) but it's seasonal, now down to 5000, I don't know enough about loans yet to develop them though. :( I tried contacting the loan geezer on here but he aint been about lately.

If you are happy making £200 -£300 a month from a small scattering (25) of domains, buy them with good ov with extension and park them up.

For example I picked up bellevuedogs.co.uk an hour ago - OVT of 19. Should pay for itself in next to no time.

If however you are trying for the big sales, then ignore everything Ive said.

True Words from Firestars, also avoid hyphens - even though many are in use they are generally crap, think if your Mum wouldn't think to type it in then don't bother with it....I own some really rubbish hyphenated names like switch-gas.co.uk slovakian-property.co.uk which have not gone well.

nothingtolongasitseasytoaketpos.co.uk

Having you finger on the pulse newswise is essential, as soon as Theo Walcott got bought for 12 Million all the extensions were gone. Also think about what isnt in the news today that will be again soon e.g the World Cup is overshowing the Cricket, I nipped in today to buy pieterson.co.uk on the day kevin pierterson hit 150 agaisnt Sri Lanka ...hardly in the news but this winter when we play in Australia he'll all over the media.

The Overture Keyword is a great help deciding between names.

Also see if other country extensions are gone already it may create an opportunity e.g kaiserchiefs I bought the .at for 4 Euros ..they play in Austria in August

But my personal advise is see it as fun and you might just get lucky!
