It goes to building a brand and other traffic sources: PPC, videos, content marketing, building email lists, subscription products, website features, Facebook ads, remarketing programs etc.

Are domain sales not being reported or are businesses not aware that to go down this road the first investment should be a dynamic impact domain name.

    What do you think ?

The shoe industry didn't die but it moved away from Northampton, not good news for that part of the industry based in Northampton.

I think the easy ride that seo had is what Julian may be referring to.

Can only speak for myself but recently sold a few .co.uk domains for really decent prices after a long lull. Also, noticeable increase in clients looking for domains as they have decided to expand their online portfolio. Most of them were searching for .co.uk. I think the overall improving economy and the reduction in the continues bad news we have been fed over the last few years is really starting to bear fruit.

I'm definitely noticing things picking up myself too, had around 10 end user sales this week which is probably a record for me. As well as the economy improving the increase in domain adverts on TV might be helping to put them in peoples minds!

Are those walk-in sales or proactive? Either way, congratulations! Can't say I've seen the same uptick myself, but fingers crossed...

Thanks! Those were all walk-in, I've noticed a steady increase over the past couple of months myself. Also noticed a definite increase in angry folk and DRS threats!

Absolutely an increase in the angry and demanding.

Out of curiosity have they been big or small sales mostly ?

I've had lots more enquiries, but the last month, is the first month in about 2 yrs I've had a deficit on my books for the last 30 days.

The sales I have had have all ended up small early to mix xxx sales, nothing big.

    Edited wording.

Was going to ask what was the conversion rate on that, an how many come back with the WTF! or less polite responses.

Also noticed a recent general upsurge in enquiries, though it has always happened at this time - spring, getting past the xmas expenses, getting past the Q4 lack of money.

Good to see people sharing their recent experiences.

I've had more inbound enquiries than I have had for a while - a few of which have turned into sales whilst others just seemed to be testing the waters, for instance a couple said they had found cheaper options when I followed up.

I even have a possible Sedo sale lined up at the moment - which will equal last year's volume if it comes off!

    Stephen.

All but 2 was hand reg.

    My favourite recent response

"Oh dear! Please do not send "spam" emails.

If i needed the domain, i would have been more on the ball "than you" and bought it myself??!

    Here ...... Try this domain - https://www.gov.uk/jobsearch

    Goodluck "

I must admit when people send you domains that would clearly be of no use it can be annoying. But good manners and professionalism stop any such replies as this.
    Be above it.

It's especially satisfying when one of their competitors buys the domain in question and you reply telling them so.
