Was just thinking that it would make sense for Google to treat the reference of a website in an article the same as if the article provided a link to the website?
I'm sure they don't but it would make sense that a web address that gets a lot of mentions without a proper link should gain some authority?
Or maybe it does help??
Only reason I'm wondering is I've been trying some press releases and it's easy to get our website a mention but harder people to put it as a link. But the meaning is the same if Google read the domain name as a web address.
