the last week has been very quiet or is it my aftershave,no one is replying on the appraisals board, most have sailed through without reply, anyway which host reseller account would you recommend?

I give the odd appraisal but find that some people dont like to hear there lovely domain is worth squat. :) so it all depends.. the thing that gets me is...

they come here sign up - ask for an apprasial before going to sedo.. they get it free of us and then dont like what they hear, so they go to sedo which have no idea what value a domain has and they say $50,000 dollars and you still have the name 100 years later.. :)

I was just reading this which was quite interesting http://www.ricklatona.com/2008/02/13/i-dont-research-domains/

It has been half term, so may be not as many people on the forums.

I provide appraisals when I can be bothered. Like Sean said, people however dont like being told reg-fee again and again.

As far as a resellers account - try www.weycrest.net - the owner is a member here.

I'm starting to wonder why I frequent the forums so much? Not usually being a domain seller im not sure what i get from it here?

thanks guys,i have bookmarked weycrest.net,db you are right about sedo giving a high valuation but lets be honest it is in there interest to over inflate there valuation.
the problem newcomers have in buying a domain is if they ask for an appraisal before purchasing it and it is half decent then you will lose it by posting it on here,if it's no good then it was a waste of time purchasing it.i felt confident in buying defaultcharges.co.uk/com but when i asked for an appraisal i had 52 views and nobody replied, there is good banter on this site but i had to go to an American site for a valuation, one thing i have noticed on this site is people registering and asking for a valuation and no reply, this will only make people look elsewhere and lets be honest it is in all our interests to make people feel welcome if you are selling, buying or asking for an appraisal....long live acorn.

Appraisal forums never do very well in my experience, the seller usually thinks its worth much more than anyone says, especially when people put "regfee".

I use domainprices.co.uk as a guide generally, I will be posted January sales there soon so let me know if anyone has any sales to report.

I have been away on a couple of short breaks - however where GPRS works I have checked in.

I agree the issue has been lower quality of names, however that is *always* the case and nothing new. The 'reg fee' valuation can be very valid but can be taken the wrong way by some people.

Maybe Admin could add an autoreply so that any message added in the appraisal section gets an automated msg saying "reg fee" then atleast no one can complain of not getting a reply.

LOL. Just go by the old adage: "If you have to ask, it's probably reg fee."
