Anyone recommend a good one? I am a bit busy to do my own at the moment.

prob one of the most important aspects of getting decent site rankings and equally one of the most difficult to find someone reliable to do it. Happy to pool £ resources if it helps secure a dependable source.

Precisely my problem!

Worth noting: I don't want affiliate links as this may effect judgement. If I have success with a service someone has recommended, then I will use there affiliate link for further purchases happily!

I agree with fish. It can sometimes be risky to put these matters into someone elses hands. If you get the wrong person they can sometimes do more harm than good!

Content Now come with a good reputation but are also very expensive

From what I've read and noticed, the good SEO people will generally have their own business/affiliate sites to run which will make them more money if they work on them.

The very good agencies/consultancies will tend to work with the bigger budget clients, so you will probably get someone who is 'in the middle' or someone who knows their stuff but is under rated. Now, finding someone is the hard part... I'm looking too :)

I've never understood why, if you are good at SEO and get can any site to rank, that you don't just do it for your own sites?

for me it's because it's a chore, boring, unchallenging, repetitive etc etc ......

No, I mean the other way around. Why would someone take on clients and do their SEO for them? If you can get a $$$ rank, then why do it for someone else, and not their own site. The only reason I can think is cashflow etc.

Like I mentioned in my post above, I have found this is what a lot of good people do. However, equally there are some who wish to diversify their business interests by offering it as a professional service - wouldn't expect it to be cheap though.

Ashton and others, what are your budgets? May be an idea to all find someone good to share and get tips from which can be used across all websites :)

What sort of costs could you expect to pay a reputable service provider?

Hello folks, I have found a great website that provides you link exchange facility and that again free of charge. I just got myself registered at www.voltrank.com, and they have provided me few links to place on my website. I checked those websites on Google and they were all ranked highly, so hopefully I’ll be able to attract more traffic on my website. They provide customizable links, so you can tweak it as per your requirements. I am yet to see its results, but it all looks too promising.

See, maybe if your name wasn't voltrank, or this wasn't your first post... you MIGHT (and that's a might) just get somewhere.

Please check your pm. One of my friend is providing Freelancing SEO Services, you can contact him. He has worked for many projects, you can also see his work samples. I am giving you his email id via pm.

The most important thing for a website and link building can be done through using different White hat SEO methods which includes Article submission with respective link, forum participation and bookmarking of site content with Do follow blog commenting.

Why would a web designer or a web developer take on clients when they can design/develop their own sites?

You could ask that question about any freelancer in any field.

Anyway, some potential reasons:

- Not all SEOs are interested in affiliate sites, or even in having their own site
- They may want to increase their SEO expertise/demonstrate their knowledge with projects that would otherwise require a LOT of commitment, e.g. a fully-fledged ecommerce site
- It's less risky (& more of a steady income) than setting up lots of sites on your own
- There's only so far you can take certain niches without investing a lot of money
- They may have a part time or even full time other job

If they don't have their own sites, then how are they learning what works and what doesn't? I'd NEVER hire an seo who doesn't have experience of running their own sites.

Yeah but you don't need to have an ecommerce site. You can rank for "laptops" and make a lot of money without actually selling them. If they are wanting to increase their expertise or learn a bit more, are they someone you really want to be hiring?

I think owning your sites is far less risky, and a more steady income, as you own the income stream. Even if it starts fading away, it'll do so slowly which will give you time to correct it. It also means you end up owning valuable assets too (the sites themselves).

- There's only so far you can take certain niches without investing a lot of money

This is probably the most valid reason, it comes down to cashflow and the seo not being well financed enough to do it themselves.

- They may have a part time or even full time other job

If they're doing it at night and have a day job, again that to me is another reason not to hire them.

I've been considering setting up a service like this that would benefit all sites.
I kind of shelved it last year due to commitments but might look at it again.
If it would be of interest to anyone then drop me a PM with interest and how many sites you want to have involved so at least I have an idea of numbers :)

Link Building

I guess some of the issues here is around what are you after. If you are looking for a magic bullet one hit wonder solution for your link building you will struggle - long term. There are lots of tools out there but seems to cause more harm than good. Either invest in someone doing it for you or invest in learning it yourself. But I guess from most of the comments here - most people know they need to do it but not enough hours in the day. :p

We offer link building solutions for clients but:

  • it ain't that cheap
  • we offer a tailored solution after initial consult so we don't offer boxed or package prices - no $19.99 for 1,000 links
  • we dont buy links
We do:
  • Article Marketing
  • Blog Content - Content - not commenting
  • Forum Sigs
  • Social Profile Links
  • Link exchanges
  • ...and a whole raft of other stuff which we deploy as and when needed and where budget are available.
  • have own sites - lots of them
  • have clients big and small

If you want a chat about what we could do for you please shoot me a PM

Oh and Merry Christmas one and all!
