Maybe bundle Domainlore details to avoid bumping down other posts?

Please don't take this thought the wrong way. It is only a thought. When I come to the homepage of Acorn Domains, I today find 31 separate posts detailing individual domains up for sale at Domainlore. Now I have used Domainlore myself and it's a valuable site, but I find it a little frustrating that other people's posts get bumped down the page and out of sight so quickly. I know there is a 'more' button I can click at the bottom, but how many people do that? I suspect we mostly just read what's on the front page. So I wondered: couldn't Domainlore domain sales be 'bundled' up in groups of 10, so we end up with 3 posts instead of 30. UKBackorder tends to 'bundle' latest domains like that, which I think is a more proportionate approach. As I said, please don't take this as a hostile post. It's not. It's just a thought and suggestion. Domainlore is a valuable site, and Acorn Domains is really useful. Thank you for all the commitment involved.

Hi, a valid suggestion.

We quite often talk among ourselves - what to show on the frontpage..

Have you noticed the header menu "Discussions"? .. would you prefer this content for the frontpage?

hmmm... this raises up a potentially really good conversation..

maybe instead, we should have a different frontpage layout? 1st - "Discussions"; 2) could be "Marketplace Ads" posts (newly updated topics), and 3) sold domains feed? ..

would love to hear more thoughts

and, of course, this isn't taken the wrong way - it is great to see members suggestion how the forum can be improved.

@Prashanna could you try creating a custom frontpage for Acorn and publish in the top menu as "Test Frontpage"? .. let us test it :) Thank you

Thank you for not getting mad at me! Personally, I think the homepage would be best kept to list ALL the most recent posts, otherwise some posts will just get lost, because I don't think most people click on every single discussion forum. I imagine many people just log in to get an overview on the homepage of all the latest posts. But for that to work efficiently, I just think that people should avoid posting multiple separate posts for every single domain up for sale. Uk backorder seems to have about the right approach (in my opinion) - a list of recent domains up for auction, bundled together in a single post. That means other people's posts don't get bumped down and off the bottom of the homepage too soon. However, I am by no means an expert and thank you for everything you do.

/quick update/

just bounced ideas with @Admin - and we have put on our "do do" plan to launch a feature that will allow forum members to customize your own frontpage (as you wish) :)

I agree with the last post. It seems a pity if multiple sales threads are bumped several times a week, in the process knocking other people's posts down the page or off the foot of the page. If you want to repeatedly get attention for the same set of domains, maybe act proportionately, say at the most once a week or once a fortnight. I realise that running this forum is loads of work for admin, and I don't know how these multiple repeat threads could be blocked, but maybe a request could be made privately where this occurs? And then a warning if ignored. Personally, I like the proportionate approach of ukbackorder - where a collection of 10 or a dozen names are listed in one post, and just posted once. That approach doesn't bump other people far down the list, and yet people get to see the domains being listed.
