An email I have received in six different inboxes today promises free food at McDonald's.

All you have to do is print off the attached coupon.

Don't do it. The attachment contains Malware.

The whole thing is a hoax.

Thank god it is not a coca cola email Frank or your computer would be full of malware right now!!!

I also got singled out.

The attachment is a .exe which says it all. Didn't open it as I was already suspicious.

Wouldn't mind getting hold of their mailing list though lol

See this then:

3 min 50 sec into it, pretty alarming if you ask me.

I'm no fan of the food industry in general, let alone McDonald's, but you have to be careful that you don't just see things in a light that reinforces your own beliefs and prejudices.

I could do a similar experiment with raw meat and a raw potato. After weeks in a glass jar, the meat would be rotten. The potato no different. Does this tell me something sinister is going on with the potato?

I got it too... didn't click anything though. I imagine that lots of salivating fast food fans will get caught out.

I take it you watched it all, as the 'genuine' chips (the moist ones) rotted as they should, very quickly like all cooked food. A raw potato should survive for some time due to the periderm, which protects it in the ground. Break it (as any farmer will know), and the spud is a scrapper!

The reason the chips survive is high fat & salt content, with little or no moisture.

Don't open it! Technically you didn't get singled out :). Just being pedantic.
