Just saw an advert on TV for milkandmore.co.uk.

Lots of things that could be improved (their woeful postcode coverage, the site's inability to deal with heavy traffic etc) but the concept of bringing back the milkman is a cracker imo.

We still have a milkman who delivers milk, bread, whatever, every morning, so they never died out everywhere.

But have to agree with Aaron - Tesco, etc., now deliver so it will be an uphill struggle for milkandmore.co.uk.

milkandmore is free though and deliver the very next morning, with tesco/asda you usually need to wait 24 hours for a slot, no good when you need bread for breakfast

We recently cancelled:

The bread they delivered was usually well into it's best before date, a loaf from the supermarket bought on the same day would usually be fresher for 3-4 days longer.

When the bad weather came, we weren't informed if there'd be deliveries or not, so just sat and waited, if it didn't come we had to go to the shops, which got a little tedious.

Breadmaking is a dead art in this country. You now need to pop over the channel to get anything that faintly resembles real bread
