I am sure most of you have, or have had a similar problem with the multiple nominet account annoyance, Is there any way to combine all Accounts that are registered under the same email address?

I have about 20 different account numbers the account name on a couple are slightly different (some have capitals, or initials instead of full first name) but the email address is the same.

The annoying thing is I dont know which names are under which account unless I log into each one and check.

The merge accounts feature does not give you this option?

Also there are still names in my account that I have sold, even though the names have been transfered, It seems that this still gives me some control over them?

Ta.

So long as the registrant name is identical and they're on the same tag, you can merge into one of the accounts, regardless of the contact email address.

If the initials are the same of varients on the same name, message nom and they will edit them without charge to match up.

Then use the account Merge :)

I had some under (assume my name is John Jones) J Jones, John J, Johnny Jones etc etc and nom changed them all to John Jones so I could merge them.

If you have different variations of your registrant name ie J Smith, John Smith, john smith etc just ask nominet to merge them and update the registrant on all to John Smith.

I don't quite think that's what Dench is asking. I too have the same question, having recently started to do housekeeping on all my domains, I tried to find a way to merge accounts with slightly varying main reg details but couldnt find the option (if one exists) does anyone know if it can be done?

You can apply to make these slight amendments to registrant name when logged into your account. In Account Summary, select Edit, change Account Name as necessary and note the reason for change in the relevant field (e.g. "standardising format of name to allow for multiple account merging"). This request will be sent to Nominet for authorisation.

Am I still not understanding the issue correctly?

Forgive me if this has now changed, but this is my findings when i tried to merge last Oct.

You cannot merge accounts with different tags even if the registrant details are the same.

The more tags you reg your names with, the more accounts you end up with.

Now lets say you sell someone 3 domains and they happen to be on 3 different tags. Nominet will charge you 3 transfers instead of 1 bulk.

So in effect, you are penalised for having names on more than 1 tag.

.

Thanks for all the replies on this, I will merge as much as possible and then contact nominet about the rest.

But...has anyone else still got expired or sold names in their account? it seems that I can cancel or transfer names that I have sold??

Why ?

Tag Changes are FREE ?

You just tell two of the tag holders to change the tag to the third tag then add them all onto one tag ?

House keeping

Been doing this myself, one account in to another into another, i have 5 seperate accounts because of 5 seperate registrars, if i can get them all on 1 Great
Several names from different tags does mean more transfer fees

can you chuck them all on your own tag :?: think this is what Skinner is getting at.

I'm moving all mine onto one tag not even my own, I'm changing all mine to DAILY, so I change the ISP tag in 123-reg or get godaddy to change them, then do a free transfer to daily who I use now.
