I know this has probably been bought up frequent times before, but can any one direct me to a statement from Nominet on why we're still paying £10+VAT for the transfer of a domain name?
I completely understood their pricing when it was a manual paper driven exercise, but now it is all automated and working seamless almost every time, why are we still filling the already pretty full coffers?
Surely it is time to review charges or am i missing something?
I have had two or three sales recent overseas - all of which I have had to explain over and over that there is a fee and it is not a "free push". They all think it's nuts and it is probably not helping smaller transactions for buyers either.
