I have a Rackspace one (based in the US). I have had it for 8yrs and it is still going strong.

It is an AMD 1.3ghz
I recently upgraded its RAM. It had 1gig and I requested another gig. I got a phone call from their UK office. The guy was p*ssing himself with laughter. He could not believe something like this was still running in their Texas data centre.

They came back and told me it could only hold another 500mb! :D

I got it at a fixed price. It costs me $99 - £68 a month
In terms of processing power, it's all I need. It hosts sites, a few databases and sends approx 2-4k of email daily.

Anyone out there with something along the same lines?

.

Up until late last year I had one running that went live in December 1997 :D

Currently the oldest one I have ticking along is from April 1999...

Just been moving three offline which were from about 2003. Was due to get them closed off at new year but been abit delayed :)

Crazy to compare what you get for the money, and the cost of power as well !

I decommissioned a rack of dell servers a couple of months ago. All were bought in 2000!
Doesnt take much to fill a rack though with them 4U space heaters.

My oldest which is still running is a DL380G3 bought in 2003.

my company is still running an old server running solaris6 which i think makes it circa late 90's. I know the application on it is from 1999 so pre then. I think we still have some compaq 1850R's too.

I'm still waiting on a replacement valve for my oldest.
