Looking for some opinions on peoples view of EMD with hyphens in todays current market.

Is anyone still selling hyphenated keyword domains to end users?

What percentage value would you put on hyphen compared to non hyphen?

Cheers

I dont rate hyphenated domains at all nowadays!

They are so much harder to rank (just my oppinion) and hard to sell

Thanks. I did sell a hyphen 2 keyword 12,000 exact in october for high £££ to end user. This domain I'm looking at has so much more potential to many end users

A bit harder to sell, but no difference in ranking ability (for a single hyphen at least).

Agree with Martin - I'm an SEO and I can assure you there is absolutely no negative impact in ranking performance - anyone that tells you there is doesn't have a clue. No doubt they're harder to sell as many believe in this myth. Shame really, I like to see a two word hyphenated domain, I think they're much more natural.

I have found a nice hyphenated co.uk available and also it's org.uk counterpart unhyphenated. What one would you go for?

Hyphenated co.uk out of those two. But I'd also want to consider whether or not it was worth it if the unhyphenated co.uk was in use.

carried out about 3 separate tests on this. Bear in mind that no test can be 100% waterproof but all tests have shown the unhyphenated version winning the SEO battle in quite a dramatic fashion. In fact, one of the tests was done right here on this forum a few months ago if I remember rightly.

Anyone who tells you otherwise... err... is entitled to their opinion and in no way means they don’t have a clue.

if ranking is your only target, the non-.org.uk is a better choice. (IMO)
