Noticed recently that some of our Domains are sitting on 'Renewal request being processed' status for ages after a renewal.... is that normal?

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if the tag holder didnt pay they went bust or did a runner ?

If invoices go unpaid, the domains get automatically suspended and ultimately cancelled.

Errr, correct.

28 days is business standard for an invoice to be paid. A lot longer if you have built up sufficent credit.

Hmmmm ok, looks like they are about 40 days behind then! Fired off an Email to them asking why they havent passed on my payments.....

Thanks to all for the replies, appreciated.

That has to be illegal tho.

Lets say for example 123-reg (damn my secret preyer is out) go bust, all the domains would be suspended and dumped ? even tho the end user had paid for them ?

I believe Nominet will email or write to the registrant and tell them what's happening so they have the option of transferring elsewhere or whatever.

But that is what happens. You have to not pay your invoices for quite sometime, I think it's about 3m. I know from experience ;)

There are some special circumstances for what happens if a registrar goes bust but I can't remember what they are. They will be on Nominet's website.
