replacement dell xps harddrive

So the Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB SATAII 16MB Cache, would probably be suitable for my needs to then? It seems reasonably priced compared t the very limited dell options. I guess it would probably invalidate my warranty though, since it's not one of the dell approved offerings?

Nah, It doesn't invalidate your warranty on the machine, just the hard drive which would have a WD warranty. If your machines still under warranty they should just replace it ?

There is nothing wrong with my drive as such, it's just not really on a par with the rest of the machine.
