Noticed this a little while back, very surprising that it's suspended.

Lucky guy for who catches this, or slight law suit?

WHOIS Query

To be fair I think they would have realised anyway and wouldn't have got close to it.

Still would have / would be funny though.

I have a very good friend called "Ryan Air". He'd have loved to have that domain name for a personal web site, as he's not a fan of any other extensions. :p

Lol I know that guy, doesn't he run "Ryan Hair" the barbers near manchester and lose some traffic to that small airline. Be legit to get that traffic back imo.

Get some one in BVI to register at watch that w$nk3r squeal.... although maybe not seeing as he will make more airtime out of it...

I wish the media would wise up and simply put one line annoucements for all the charging for toilets stuff etc... then maybe we'd never hear from that tw*t again....

They were probably trying to charge nominet for the privelage of renewing their own name, then trying to charge nominet for the internet connection, then trying to charge nominet for the renewal booking fee and of course the debit card transaction fee.

Yep, I called them. Took a while, she seemed to find it not so serious.

why waste your time? if it was a charity name then fair enough.

it doesnt even resolve without the www., thats how dumb they are. should have dropcaught it, put it in the name of theo and pointed it at easyjet.
then watched the feathers fly :D

Don't you mean Stelios?

Or perhaps he was trying to see if they'd sell it to him before it dropped....

:)

On a serious note, if anyone did pick this up - could they argue that as the name had been dropped by RA (who are big enough and IT savvy enough to know what they're up to), they thought it was reasonable to presume they no longer wanted it...?

Except in the real world it doesn't quite work like that with terms that could be associated with just one unique party such as in this case. Just because you can register it doesn't mean you have the right to.

I appreciate that normally - but here the circumstances would be slightly different. The 'one unique party' have actively (or at least passively) acted to show they no longer want the domain.

Not relevant here now, but could be some other time...
