Hi

Does anyone know of anywhere that allows you to put in an IPSTAG and get a list of domains registered through that tag? A bit like reverseDNS but with IPSTAGS?

Thanks

Why would you be interested in that?

It seems abit stalkery :)

well I have a contract with a national company that sells parts to loads of independent companies, to provide web design to those companies at a reduced rate. Twice recently I've found that a company specialising in reselling domain names at vast profit has bought previously unregistered domain names that are exactly the same as the companies I'm supposed to be working for.

I'm curious to find out if any other names that I may require in the future have been pre-registered. Don't get me wrong... I know this happens, luck of the draw and all that, but it's just a bit suspicious that it's not happened for over 3 years, then twice in a matter of weeks. It's not like the names are generic at all... they're specialist companies with names that mean nothing to anyone except the company themselves.

So not stalkery, more "professionally curious" to find out if there's a leak in the company I have the contract with.

Thanks

Nominet has a service called the 'spy on your competitor' list, you pay a fee and you can do 25,000 searches a day to spy on what your oppo businesses are getting involved in, what markets they're entering, what websites they're developing, what ideas they have. Look up nominet it's called the PRSS.

Hi Lee

Thanks for the info, but £400 is a bit steep for just checking out one specific tag holder... after all it might just be sheer co-incidence :)

Thanks

They may have been domains that were previously owned then dropped and picked up by whichever TAG for the existing traffic?

<edit> - scratch that, just read your 'previously unregistered' comment.

Just post a request on here as there's a user on here who's happy to abuse the PRSS system and post peoples details on the forum. Be quick though as he may lose his access shortly for abusing it. That's assuming nominet stick to their rules and do something right unlike their DRS process.

I just logged in to check my pm's and couldn't resist posting this. Back to the shadows!

a) It's 21,000 searches a week.

b) It doesn't allow any search by "tag". The reason for this is to prevent any abuse by one or more tag holders composing lists of competing tag holder's customers, then contacting those customers in an attempt to convince those customers to switch their business.

Name then. Just as helpful, even more so probably.
