Spotted a mass EMD addict in Netherlands!

Thought this might be interesting to domainers.... even though it's not UK related.

Came across this webshop today and then noticed it is part of a huge network of webshops each using an EMD or partial EMD but all part of the same family under a "mother brand" cool blue!

look at "alle 147 shops"

The clever thing is they have one basket / checkout across all the stores and it's all quite seamless.

Hope that makes some sense and it's interesting enough to some of you!

Possibly using the multi-store model. Maybe with Magento where multiple stores use the same main store catalog but use a sub-section of it. All carts driven through the payment gateway of the parent site.

Yeah they own quite a few shops, 249 webshops and 7 physcial stores and are famous for their excellent service, the company behind it is called Coolblue and was founded by 3 students in 1999.

They had a turnover of 168 million in 2012 and the turnover for the first 6 months of 2013 was up 43% compared to last year.
