I hear what you are saying. It feels like it should be worth the value you have on it, minimum, but the odd thing is that although virtually all who have set foot on the net have had the benefit of telnet whether they knew about it or not, it's difficult to see who would make money from the domain, or how.

a quick scan of the news says that telnet is something which frequently needs security patches, but that's not a big market.

counting against you is that the .com is not in use, and has for sale signs on it.

if they met the lowest point of your £x,xxx figure in mind then consider it, unless you've got some strong ideas on how you're going to make it work for you at some point.
