Is there an easy way of moving sites between reseller accounts or is it as hard a task as it looks? I fancy going unlimited and taking the risk. I'm with hostroute at the moment but wouldn't mind saving £500 a year.

Cheers

Cheap hosting and he can normally sort out the moving for you. :D

If it's a whm/cpanel set up and the change is on the same machine it's trivial. The root whm user can just change a flag.

If its between machines you'll need someone with root access to WHM and SSH on both machines - then it's a case of using the built in scripts to do a full backup put it on the new machine and restore it.

You'll need to check things like cron jobs, stats and hidden files (eg. .htaccess) have been properly transferred.

Thanks I'll look into both as I know I'm paying too much.

There's a tool some sites use to place automatically a site within cpanel, I thought there might be one that when provided password and username could just take the site out also, its seems plausible to me.

The cpanel "full backup" option will save the files, database, stats and email. In my experience it hasn't been perfect on cron jobs and keeping file permissions set. A cpanel full backup needs to be restored by the root whm user.
