The UK ROR 'WHO GOT WHAT?' thread

drum.uk but generally wasted precious few epp slots on ultra premiums will ignore top 10-20 names tomorrow

I always thought you just had to have an administrative address in the uk ?

You did. But when they adhered to the GDPR policy they also removed that requirement. It's somewhere on their website but not sure where.

Hi all - Long time lurker here, but first time poster.

I’ve bought quite a few domains from resellers over the years, whether through DomainLore or individuals like Michael Toth.

I’m a long term Easyspace customer. They do my hosting and I’ve always done my new domain buying through them. CS is first class, so I’ve always been happy.

I pre-registered 20 domains with them last week ahead of this week’s festivities. 8 have been across yesterday and today without Easyspace acquiring any - which is fair enough as I’d selected a few worldies.

However following yesterday’s failure, I also pre-reg’d two of the domains with GoDaddy at exactly 2pm today and was a tad surprised to get a confirmation of registration for both an hour ago.

Can’t help but think I wouldn’t have secured these names had I not switched to GD at the last minute - much as I dislike putting my business through the big guys.

Anyway, welcome to the family...

I buy sports and gambling related domain names for business. Feel free to contact me via pm at any time.

Good luck for the rest of the week.

@DesD I had sucess with GoDaddy today also, but I guess if you did it at exactly 2pm you could have just registered it using one of the registrars who allow it, without the risk of GoDaddy sticking it in an auction.

So far I have two out of three using different methods. Nothing spectacular but all things I wanted for use and development.

I have been following the saga since the start of the whole process and personally as someone who does not make their living from domains I have found that in the outside world the .uk has had very little impact. I as a preference always register and prefer the .uk

I got daddies.uk. My script fired a touch too early, my 2:00 poll were all still reserved.

Tomorrow is when the ones I really want fall, so third time lucky!

I purposely started my script early to make sure it ran on time. Could be NTP sync or possibly some drift with the sleep function. Tomorrow will be my day.

daddies.uk nice trademark that's a DRS waiting...

£4.99 including reg for 1 year. Get refund if they fail (minus fees)

Yep, if more than one wants to register, private auction. Happened with carcare.uk today. Which bizarrely I saw initially registered by 123-reg but it is now with godaddy as is the auction. I just got lucky with findproperty.uk unless I'm the only one that sees value in it.
