I know from time to time a member of the group will make a post about leaving (and then they come back). I don't think I could ever ditch the domain biz completely...

But the time and money I used to have aren't there any more. Real world, family and now buying a house is making me think I should completely sell up and maybe start up in a while just managing one or two sites.

Just not sure if nows a good time to sell everything up. Has anyone here been through this and has tips?

Are there people who would buy up everything for a 'reasonable' price?

I have sites like the following which bring in some income (used to be in the thousands/moth collectively... now much less):
http://www.londonstudent.co.uk
http://www.morecambe.co.uk
http://www.virtualnorwood.com
http://www.studentbooks.com

Also domains including:
iu.co.uk
holy.co.uk
paddington.co.uk
bowl.co.uk
many London suburb/area geo domains... + brandables/generics.
and many more that I can't even remember.
In all cases the .uk right is included...

I've turned down many serious offers for my domains in the past (and don't think I regret any of them) but wouldn't sell for less than I've collectively paid.

I don't know... just very reflective especially while getting the house deposit together!

PM me the prices and revenue for the sites you want to sell.

Pm me a price on my local name you know which one.

Jamie, don't want to go into revenue past or present. I know it helps from a buyer's point of view but I don't have time to go through each site... Just check out the sites for potential and assume limited revenue.

I'll try and get a list together for those who are interested but I'm not at the point of a firesale, just would consider either consider decent offers on individual domains, or a significant offer to buy me out of everything...

As an idea I'd be looking at xx,xxx to buy me out and some of the premium names high xxxx, with others xxx.

After I get a list together make an offer on anything if interested - I'm considering selling up in part because of the time, so please make offers to see if we're in the same ballpark - I'm not going to list prices of individual names.

Has anyone sold portfolios in the past. If you're a buyer who sees the value and can make reasonable offers on a batch or all, send me an email to [email protected]

Know how it feels when you've got no time but it just makes it near impossible to make a decent offer. Could save you time in the long term since it'll stop people making stupidly low offers (like £100) on a site making £500 a month for example.

I don't want to waste your time by offering a low price for something that's making a fortune.

They're not making a fortune, low hundreds each (if that) for the sites above.

Revenue sources are mixed: adsense use to bring in 500+ collectively from all sites with sponsored articles bringing in more. Some other sources of income including affiliate and links but this has dried up. Changes in SEO and my lack of effort to update the sites haven't helped.

We are talking xxxx for the sites. The geos above cost me xxxx at the time so would be looking for that+.

I finally put the list together. Email me at [email protected] for the list.

Has anyone been through this in the past, or had a broker work with them to sell a portfolio of mixed domains?

Does the list include prices?

It's true.. 80% of my sales have come from a combination of fixed prices or starting auctions at a very low reserve (usually £50). I think you always stand the best chance with one of those.. Good luck though! :)

The list doesn't but in my email I describe where an £ expectation for a few domains.

This isn't a fire sale, I'm either selling most of the domains for a good price, or individuals for good prices to get me to my goal. If that's not possible at this stage then I'll stay in it for the long haul (developing and reaching out to end users).

Anything less, makes me worse off.

Send an email if you want to take a look but know that it won't come with prices, traffic and revs.

Not if you take what you sell for and put it into your new property, sure you'll do better long term.

Not in any way saying you should take a big hit on them, but, say in five years and you've still got them and still holding out trying to recoup your costs, the money invested in that property would have given you a far better return.

Completely understand...

I just need a certain amount to get together a deposit for a house. Otherwise I'm continuing to rent, which might be the best thing anyway (8 minutes from work!)

Thanks for all the interest. Selling domain by domain to domainers was never really my intention, only a bulk deal... Unless I received a great price for one.

i've received a few fair offers for some that might go through but not the majority of names...

So I've decided to go the other way - and redevelop the sites and develop the primes (and cut the fat from the list).

To start me on this mission I've just bought a new phone and now I'm going to the Apple Store! lol
