I have just picked up a dropped news site Tenerife News .net
the .com version is a popular one - owner claims some fairly wild uniques and pageviews and has contacted me about buying ad space etc.

So I have the .net version but what to do? I dont have time to sit and write news all day everyday and I am reluctant to RSS feed duplicate content to it... What have others done with these types of sites?

I thought about advertising for freelancers or to people who maybe fancy writing a column about whatever it is they are interested in but still have the problem of keeping the content bang up to date...

Also, is their a particular way of getting your site into the google news feed?

The man with the .com wants to advertise - you feed from him, newswise, and develop the site as a visitor guide. Hotel info, cheap accommodation, cheap flights, plenty of opportunities for pay per click and Adsense. Low maintenance after the first write.

Great opportunity and a good name!
