On foot, leave the Albert Dock, cross over Wapping (the main dock road at that point), up Liver Street (which runs behind Canning Place Police HQ) which will merge into Paradise St. You'll see John Lewis on the opposite corner, turn right at these lights up Hanover St and head to Wood St (on the right), O'Neill's pub is on the corner of the street (pop down stairs for a few scoops whilst you're passing). Then anywhere all the way up Wood St to about Slater St has some nice places to hang out with the lads, and you'll find anything you need up there! BTW, opposite O'Neill's is a cheap 'all you can eat' Chinese, sets you up for the night ahead.
You could bother crossing town (500 yards or so) to the Matthew St area, but personally I wouldn't bother, leave that place to the local soaks.
Thanks all, as mentioned above,'we started off at oneils and ended up at concert square, plenty of outside drinking going on. Some beautiful women in Liverpool. On another note, no one told me it was gay pride on the harbour!
yep a late night, but got up for first sitting at breakfast at 930, back to bed and got up again to get seconds at 1159 (breakfast finishes at 12) haha
