Setting up a new site which I'm planning on putting a lot of time (and probably money!) in to, so want to make sure I get the URL structure the best that I can.

I think it's either these two:

mysite.co.uk/reviews/samsung - which then lists all the samsung reviews

or

mysite.co.uk/samsung-reviews - which then lists all the samsung reviews

Would I be right in saying that the second one would be better for SEO and readability?

I guess it depends on if the site is just going to be all about reviews or a lot of other things..

It makes no difference in terms of SEO whether it's either though

Just make sure you watch out for canonical issues.

Thanks everyone.

Maybe it's just me but I think something like mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung/galaxy-s3 or whatever looks too long and spammy.

The site isn't all about reviews but around 60% probably will be reviews to be honest.

Why not just do it like

mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung/ for a list of all samsung reviews

then

mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung-galaxy-s3

mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung-galaxy-s4

for each one

Not a bad idea but that'd probably make me have to mess around with Wordpress to group all Samsung reviews when someone visits mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung

I think I'll use mysite.co.uk/reviews/Samsung/galaxy-s3 for example, it might look the best but it makes it easy for people to look at certain brands.

I'd have thought the more detail in the domain the better. Very unlikely to get hits for samsung reviews so should concentrate on very product specific reviews for particular models?

If you're in WordPress, then this is fiddly.

With Custom Post Types you could use "reviews/" for category archives and "review/" for individual review posts.

i'd go for this or similar.

out of interest, is it going to be a review site? may have something to interest you if it is

Went for my site.co.uk/reviews/samsung/galaxy-s3 in the end. Hopefully it works well.

Max - mainly reviews yes. PM me if you want.
