hi all,
im wanting to transfer my domain name from 123-reg.co.uk to ekmpowershop where my new online store is.

the instructions given by ekmpowershop say to "update your domains name servers" which i have done but then also says to "change the IPS tag to 'EKMSYSTEMS'".

if i do this will i lose domain name ownership as i dont want ekmpowershop to rip me off next year when its time to renew or if i want to move my online store or somthing or force me to pay a massive fee to keep the domain name.

someone, please help!

thanks in advance
danielle

Hi,

IPS Tag and DNS is technical changes rather than ownership changes.

the 'Registrant' field is only changeable by Nominet and with your agreement.

Cheers,
Rob.

Ask your host which DNS servers to use and then update your domain in the 123-reg control panel to the servers specified by your host. This way you keep the domain in your control, but get the benefits of your host managing the DNS records for you.
