Wordpress Seo , posts optimised for SEO am i taking the strength from the homepage??

Basically , when i do a post on my website , i use the pretty url’s
e.g
Show-plates.com/show-plates-latest-news
With me using my website name , in the post will this be taking any of the strength away from my front page , each time i post i am adding a page to the site....does this in any way devalue the front page ?
On some of my posts i am using a backlink to the front page or to the “number plate builder “ page , is this good or bad ? am i redirecting seo strength back to the front page ?
