Will the acorn community be consulted ahead of changes and freely allowed to discuss them without posts being removed?
What changes are currently planned?
Thanks
Of course I will remove threads like the last one, they are damaging.
Well I for one welcome the changes.
I stopped posting anything over the last 6 months after stepping down as a mod, mainly due to the hammering I got whenever I posted anything.
Character assassinations were common - as were the posts complaining that the forum wasn't what it used to be, and all the interesting members left.
It's needed some new blood for a long time and I finally feel like posting again as hopefully will others.
Indeed, but member feedback/suggestions is key to this. Not a "don't like it, won't have it" attitude. Hope the forum can be turned around so key contributors return. Use to be a great place to be.
Seems my first reply was deleted because I raised concerns. I give up!
You give up! You have no idea of what I am doing in the background, it's been less than a week, why don't you give someone a break. I'm talking to important ex members outside of this forum ....just as an example to illustrate how your complaints are making a frustrated admin.
If you're doing business on here by selling domains and making money, why are you opposed to kicking back a fee for the use of the platform?

Admin outlaid funds, to get it back changes seem logical. It could even be a flip project.
A paid section that was private (away from Google eyes) would be a preference for me. If private, people open up/share.
A paid section that is blocked from Google indexing already exists, it's this one:
http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/exclusive-club.html
Switching to a private forum would lose Acorn a lot of search engine traffic.
Everyone talks as if Acorn must have sold for a pretty penny, but I can't imagine it earns much to be honest. Surprised if the deal was worth much more than £xxxx.
