So who owns their own name in the .com or other tld version?

I own my own name BillySherman.com

Paulleahy.com i tried to registered the co.uk but someone had beat me to it but does nothing with it but his name is Paul leahy so he can keep it but i think the .com is much better

I bought my daughters name but i didnt bother with mine. Im sure she will be alot more famous than me :)

I got David surname co uk
I got Dave surname co uk
I got David first letter of surname co uk (no idea why just saw it drop)
I got mysurname me uk

plus my kids first+surname co uk

Why wouldn't you!

That said glad I've got a not so common name (although not much chance of somebody famous coming along with the same name and offering me an amount I can't refuse!).

.com only co.uk doesn't make as much sense as implies you're a company?!

The town where you live is often the best to tell people when out and about. I have mobberley.com and you can then have fun with the bit before the @ i.e. it can be anything!

I too have how can you not, but .com taken by a German company  I will wait for them to go Bankrupt

I have:

Ian surname co uk
Ian surname com

oh, also have:

surname co uk
surname com

Did have the opportunity to buy ian dot com many years ago and turned it down. Hey ho ;)

I got namesurname.com and surname.com.mx
surname.com was dropped 2 years ago and I wasnt there to catch it, Ill never forgive myself for it.

Yup, I own mine. Also own

INITIAL LASTNAME.com too just to be sure.

Still need to pick up just the SURNAME.com :)

Both variations of my name Dave and David were taken, luckily they both dropped and I caught them both :)

Just registered the kids names, ROI will be at least 10+ years :???:

Surnames/first names

I believe that, long term, there will be more value in first names than surnames; they are more marketable. Better if you can get one that doubles as a first and second name - e.g. Ewarts.
I have most of our family's names in the dot co dot uk format. When I registered them the only available versions were (a) the possessive - eg. Bridgets or (b) with the suffix "place" e.g Bridgetsplace.
That makes the email address attractive - Bridget(at)Bridgetsplace.co.uk. Lots of interest in personal names but not many sales - story of my life.

Scotours.co.uk

yes, got mine as com and co.uk, and got whole family as co.uk. The kids will realise the benefit in years to come. The 11 year old already does, as all her friends have to be [email protected] etc.

Apologies for resurecting this thread, but this seems a good a place as any.

Anyone after a "name" email address might want to register with yahoo, they have recently released ymail.com email addresses and if get in early enough might get something better than "[email protected]".

I got [email protected] and [email protected]
