I remember having a discussion on here a while ago about SEO and domain age.

Recent google hangout video from John Mueller

More emphatic proof (than just taking his word for it) that google doesn't use registration dates is expired domains with SEO value, since they don't get reset once the domain drops and gets re-registered.

What do you think about them using registrant details to detect spam networks?

I'm not sure if they do that but I do know that can link sites through affiliate links, amazon links, adsense and analytics.

I know of several groups of sites that have been punished simultaneously that have been identified through such common elements.

As Brassneck said above, they can detect networks through all sorts of things.

An interesting site is: http://netcomber.com/

If I remember correctly it was built by an ex-google employee, you enter a site and it shows you other sites with the same analyitcs/adsense codes, ip's, similar links etc

Clever stuff

But I don't think unless you did something obviously spammy or manipulative with the sites they would come up on google radar + or if someone reported you manually.

Not that unusual for someone to own a lot of sites.

i've always thought domain age was a load of balls.

if you think about registrant details too, you can lie about everything, none of it's verified. why would google check that? they'll be checking things which are far more advanced than that.

IPs too - load of nonsense that different IPs help. you can get a new ip for a few dollars, so google knows that spammers will just do that, therefore google wont bother to check for same IP.

it wil be way more complex, and it needs to be way more complex.
