We all see them everyday - whether on the TV, in magazines, shop displays, billboards, cars, vans, lorries and everywhere else I can't think of right now - and I'm sure most of us on this forum can appreciate seeing a good .co.uk being used effectively.

I'd like to see a thread where everyone can upload snaps or videos (even radio clips) of domains in use - good or bad and free reign to discuss.

*disclaimer - not sure of the legal ramifications of sticking a load of other people's ads on here - but it's all for research so can't be that bad, right?

First one - seen this recently, thought it was interesting - not your typical domain that we'd all go mad over - but I think it's been used pretty well:

It's a good idea for a thread and I'll keep my eyes opened.

Looking at your Scottish Widows example, I'm surprised they didn't secure "inanhour.co.uk" as a stop-guard against people not realising that they were meant to type the whole of that long expression in as a domain name. The two different sizes of font make it less obvious that it's all one URL.

Advertsing straight to a domain.. it's the only way to have 100% direct relationship with user..

Haven't updated this thread in a while so... I drive around London often and see a ton of domains in use, good and bad - but as they've upped the stakes with fines for using phones/driving I don't take a lot of pics. But here's a lorry I saw recently - good example of how to use a category killer I feel:

There's a billboard using the pc.co.uk address near my local train station at the moment. I haven't been able to stop and catch a photo, but has anyone else seen the same ad?

They have roadside banners on the m62 and I think m1. Still tempted to try that!

I keep seeing loads on what's essentially a motorway slip road outside the gym, some don't make sense at first. I usually notice ones where they have a domain then, then the email is [email protected], or ones where they don't have an website but have an odd email.

I drive passed a company called Vista Labels and the Car outside has the number plate V1 STA, always notice that.

I'll keep an eye out, good idea for a thread :)

Pet hate, winds me up that they have gone to the effort to get a domain but they then haven't gone to the effort to get an easy email related to the domain which then forwards to their freeserve e-mail

Whenever I see ones like that I always think it might be a good lead for a web designer to get in there...

See this one whenever I'm driving round the countryside - nice and memorable:

Yep, used to see a woodlands sign by the M53 when driving home. If I ever want to buy some woodland, I know which site I'll visit first!
