Hi

Not been on here for a while and some of you may remember me as allclear when I bought debtfree and debtconsolidation co uk.

I have an issue with someone I used to know who has lost the plot and has posted various false reviews about me personally and businesswise and unfortunately they appear in the top 10 when people search for my name.

Have tried approaching google and taken legal advice but a waste of time.

I have also joined a number of social media sites as profiles on linkedin, facebook, twitter etc rank 1 and 2 etc.

Does anyone have any good sites I could post an article to to get that article for example to appear in the top 10 when people search my name (which isn't that common). Or any other good social media sites I could join?

I have the .com and co.uk of my name if someone thinks they could get those both in the top 10 please email me.

Or if someone has a number of high ranking sites I would be willing to pay them to promote my name through those?

All the best

Ok, so you've already covered quite a few bases.

There's:
- Linkedin
- Twitter
- Facebook
- Google+ profile
- A personal site (on .com or .co.uk) which you can link to from L/T/F/G+ and other places
- Prominent business website with your full name and info on an "About" page
- Guest blog posts (can you find suitable blogs and guest on them with your full name in your "bio"?)
- Forums (join a forum under your full name and post a lot of good stuff)
- Quora. Join with your full name, and answer a bunch of questions with helpful answers

That's nearly 10 already. And perhaps think of other sites like Flickr, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, etc. Others may have some good suggestions here.

Wherever possible, use your full name in the signup process and as your username (if you can) and also customise the URL you're offered (again if you can) so that it includes your full name.

Takes some work, but it should be entirely possible to get at least 3/4 if not all the links on page 1 to reflect listings that you have some degree of control over, especially since you said your name isn't so common.

Oh, and you might want to change your Acorn username to "Firstname Lastname" since you've already got 362 posts so once Google's finished respidering there's a good chance of one of the threads you've participated in showing up in the top results.

Thanks Edwin. Yes been trying a few of those and will try a few of the ones I haven't. Thanks a lot.

Thanks Blossom. Yes I have been working along those lines and have had some successes. It's probably the guest sites where I can set up a page about myself where I need help. Do you have any suggestions on sites??

Edwin. Registered with Quora and actually really enjoyed it. Have posted around 10 replies to peoples questions. Haha

you could also use soundcloud & pinterest

Just use your name as the username for both.
