Don't apologise, some of us agree with the 'an eye for an eye' approach!

Good news Kate, hope he suffered !

Like Anthony said an eye for an eye.

For 250k years man has always killed those who kill, hurt or threaten his family, I know these inmates are not related but I'm sure if the childs' father could have got his own way then he would have.

Prison is a soft alternative.

I'm not one for an eye for an eye. Just my personal opinion as I don't think violence solves anything long term.

The one bed Hilton that the yanks use for supermax is more my idea of hell, have a tv and one hour a day outside the cells. That is much more suitable in my opinion. Someone once wrote in to Radio 2 and told them to leave the tv tuned in on Sky's preview channel.

The system at the moment is to relaxed in my opinion.

Agreed. Death is too much of an easy escape for these people. Then again it is cheaper for the tax payer.

21 years ago I quite happily provided the witness evidence that put a rapist & murderer behind bars 'for life'. The 18 year old girl was an only child, and within a few years her mother died of a broken heart.

The twat who did it probably cost the taxpayer over £1M to feed, dress & tuck up in bed over the years, and he's now walking free. Sorry, but incarceration doesn't pay in my mind. I'm not saying you should stone the bastard, but a syringe full of poison would have saved us all a bucket load of cash, and it might just have let that mother sleep easier at night, and possibly even live a bit longer too!

"Bradford Crown Court heard that the toddler suffered 107 injuries at Anwar's hands.
During a month-long ordeal a metal pole was used to shatter the child's leg. She died with fractures to all her limbs."

Anybody that is a parent will rejoice at this news.

I sincerely hope they also got a metal pole, fractured every one of his limbs and then inserted into his sphincter (no lubricant) and tapped it very gently with a hammer all the way up until it came out of his mouth.

There is no place on this planet for people like this.

I know, not very civilised/liberal or 'enlightened' of me, but i could not help it.

I knew this had to be about this case as soon as I saw the title of thread. I agree with you completely Kate. One has to read the extent of this man's actions to comprehend it all. We don't have the death penalty any more but 'prison justice' like this remains a deterrent - and a good one IMHO.

Believe it or not, it costs far more to execute someone than to imprison them for life.

As a democracy we decided to abolish the death penalty in 1965. Whether you approve of this or not, the recent incident just demonstrates the ineptitude of our crap prison system.

Personally, I don't think murdering scumbags or the filthy acts they commit are worthy of applause.

I wasn't around then but they were promised that life would mean life. You can be out of prison in under 10 years for murder.

Unfortunately history tells us that is society doesn't think sufficient punishments are handed out, then they will act themselves. The best way to counter this is to hand out real sentences in uncomfortable conditions.
