vfestivaltickets.co.uk has gone from sitting nicely in the google.co.uk top 3 position to nowhere in less than a week :(

i dont think its been banned as i can still find the site with inurl and site.

all content is unique and i dont think its breaking any of googles t&c's

How long was it in the top 3 for?

What have you changed recently?

Other than that it would be good to add a lot more content...

the whole layout is a couple of weeks old.
it was top 3 last friday (the day the tickets were released)

i dont think i have changed a thing since then.

is it usual for a new site to hit the top of google then drop drastically over a week?

im not over worried where it is in google, i just wondered why..

There could be a marker on vfestival ticket domains. Google probably just pulled it.

On the official v festival site at the bottom if the tickets page. There is a list of sites. Yours isn't there but who knows.

Yes, definitely. It's called google dance. You'll basically rank well for a short period of time while G decides whether or not to keep you there. Unfortunately, you didn't get lucky and stay there.

Give it a week and see how it goes

Some of my sites been jumping around 120 - 80, 60-20 pretty much overnight

Reckon it's just a bit of an algo shift running this week

i did apply to ticketmaster, during the week..
they did accept me, due to my google position (above them!)

later, the account manager got back to me and said they were sorry but they could not accept this domain name (understandably)

maybe that flagged my domain with the big boys at the top..

Noticed that a lot of my sites are jumping around at the moment... Some up some down. I expect your site will bounce back somewhere between where you are now and where you were. If my sites are anything to go on, as the site ages, and more links get added your site will then steadily move back up.

Your site is an affiliate site yes?

Sounds like the Panda got to it.

This is something that happens all the time. It's like google randomly split test or have a bug in the algo. I have had pages for weak competition vanish for ages and then re-appear.

Also new sites do usually rank a bit higher when they are first indexed while the bots work out where is should be placed.

If google went into manually remove it, because it most likely breaks trademark rules, there would usually be a note at the end of the serps page stating they removed a listing because it violated their terms.

I don't think you have enough linking domains that would get you on the ranking. Try building more backlinks. I believe the reason why you top is because your site is still new and because you are using a keyword-rich domain. If you get more backlinks then your site will rank in no time. Just do it slowly but surely - to make sure you don't get penalized.
