What are the best methods to hide affiliate links and also the best for Search engines. I think Google doesnt like outgoing affiliate links?

Thanks,

Mat

I would presume javascript would hide them from the spiders/Google?
Not sure, wil be doing a few aff sites over the coming months so it's something I will have to read up on as well.

Mos popular method seems to be using htaccess.

Ye there seems to be alot of methods about!

I want to hide the affiliate link from both users and search engines....

Thanks

Just what I needed!!

Rep added to you and creator...

All working on the latest site, just seems now im going to have to add this to all the sites :D

Is it worth the effort? i.e. if you have an affiliate site already done, would you expect to see an improvement by changing it?

I would say so, it will certainly help with the SE's and it gives a more professional and clickable look to your users!

I know se will penalise you for having aff links. Would the following method work?

Point affilliate link 1 to: /partners/link1.html

link1.html:
Code:
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http://www.afilliate1.com">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Would this method work just as well?

Bad idea:eek:

Guys,

Just wondering if Pauls htaccess method will work on hiding text link adds as well , was thinking of putting these people http://tnx.net on my site.

Is there an easy way to hide affiliate links if your using a datafeed file? I have some which run off csv files but obviously dont want to setup a htaccess file with 30,000 redirects.

Hammer,

Are you taking about importing feeds into affilistore? If so have a gander over here (towards the bottom).

http://www.affiliates4u.com/forums/...070-product-feeds-html-javascript-iframe.html

I've just started using affilistore and I'm stuck on this option in import datafeed

'Add a URL prefix to Affiliate Product Link?' - I don't know if its this bit that does the hiding? And whether to use xyz.com as my url prefix.

no m8, I download csv product feeds i.e. from buy.at these have affiliate links in them but was wondering if I could mask them at all.
