Hi Guys,

Thought I would say Hi, I have had nearly a year off but its my first day back today selling domains :)

I got quite burnt out last year as i took on alot of web design which took too much effort and totally side tracked me.

Ive just launched my new website today, built in word press but I just need a couple of jobs doing like adding my tel number to the header and floating my address next to my contact form, can anyone help?

Hope you are all well,
Sean

Thanks to the member who has been very good with me whilst i owe him money, he knows who he is!

Yeah I pretty much just got burnt out and a bit cheesed off, should have really concentrated on what I do best than messing around with websites.

That's confusing, you posted this in November only a couple of months ago.

haha only pulling your leg Sean, Welcome back.

What are you struggling with on the site ?

Hi Adam

Just styling my contact form 7 and aligning it next to my contact details, it all floats below each other down the page.

contact form 7 out the box is always a pain. You really need to style it up properly in your themes css file, there are quite a few examples of how to style it certain ways in Google.

Hi Mat

Yes I ve got that far with it myself, according to google all the css changes have to be made in stylesheet.css which is only assessible through ftp. all others i can make changes in within wordpress itself "editor" part.

but what is confusing is if i style the form how can i align it within my word press site so it sits nicely next to my contact details side by side.

at the moment they are floating like this...

[contact-form]

my address
my telephone
my email
etc.

[Google-Map]

I really need them sitting next to each other, thanks to Paul Laskos for his help with my header

Your OP says you spent the last 12 months doing web design

Yeah but they are not great websites as you can imigine, they were for family and friends businesses, I saved them alot of money but its ended up costing me for more!

Open the site in Chrome, right click on the bit you want to modify and select "inspect element", you can then make direct changes to the CSS and see how it looks, then copy these changes directly into the necessary CSS file in the theme. Rinse & repeat until the layout is how you want to to be.

Hi Alex

Thats a great idea, sounds simple enough ill give that a quick try now!

Many thanks
Sean

You can always try a plugin such as this as an example which will allow you to add columns using shortcodes. Might make things easier.

Just to add there will be other plugins that will do a similar job as this one hasn't been updated for a while but better to do your own search.

Looks great that plugin, ill install that and have a play around. Thank you

Also make sure you add the css to your themes style sheet rather than the plugins, or it could get overwritten with updates.
