ok due to just not having the time or budget to finish this I'm selling my job website project.

http://jobday.zodpreview.co.uk/index.asp

Package includes the domain name www.jobday.co.uk which cost me £500 and it will have the jobbuild site here on the live url.

So far I have paid almost £3,000 to the UK based jobsite specialists developers for this site, they specialise in job websites and job boards so it's not a cheap out of the box version especially the design. I just don't have time to work anymore on it. I'm asking £2,500 for the site and domain name which comes with a unique build and design.

Any questions please just ask.

Wow er ok. Lying again? Just trying to sell a website, not sure your issue with me is. Ah jersey jobsite, well the idea was to build a brand but just didn't have the time or inclination to follow it through. Nothing to hide here at all.

Can see your point but you seem a tad over the top on this. Infact I'm sure I have a for sale thread for the jerseyjob site so not trying to hide anything here. You seem to like using the lying word a lot like you've caught out a master criminal or something. Nothing untoward here at all.

www.jerseyjob.co.uk
www.loveyourbanger.co.uk
www.jerseyisland.co.uk (a new one for you)
The jobsite in this thread all use the same theme, style etc.

They charged you £3k to drop their existing script into your own design? Is this a joke? I'm in the wrong business!

Can the site be monetized easily?

For example:

Do you get paid when users sign up with CV?
Are there any active jobs in database? Is there a backfill database?
When recruiters pay for job posts is it fully automated and working?
Do you keep all commission from recruiter job posts?
Is the email job alerts system fully automated and working?
Will the site be compatible with wordpress?

Thanks.
adam

Hi there ok hope this helps.

Do you get paid when users sign up with CV? ( The only way it earns money is when people post jobs I think)

Are there any active jobs in database? Is there a backfill database? (its not live its on the development url and will be moved to the live url so no jobs)

When recruiters pay for job posts is it fully automated and working? (it will be yes the developers are finishing it and putting it on the live url)

Do you keep all commission from recruiter job posts? ( I presume you do minus running costs etc)

Is the email job alerts system fully automated and working? (yes)

Will the site be compatible with wordpress? ( I'm not sure I could ask)

Sorry I can't give you more info, it's never been live just on the development url I gave I'm afraid)

e finishing it and putting it on the live url)

What running costs are there?

I was looking to get software like this developed for my site but I needed a database backfill (i.e. to make sure I already have jobs available for users).

To be frank I wouldn't pay for anything on a dev URL until I see it fully functioning as a live website.

I understand, will be working on it this week.

Running costs I presume will be hosting, bandwith, advertising such as PPC etc if you choose to do that, theres Facebook a san option too.

I think you can get a database of jobs when I was looking at using 3rd parties. The site can be incorporated with 3rd party services that means they can choose to include this site when they post new jobs, companies like Broadbean etc.

Did the design company do the design or did you? They've done some nice looking job/career sites which i assume is the same framework as your site with a brief look at the source of some of them , if you paid £3k for something that isnt finished id hate to think what they've changed the other sites which look alot more professional.

Most of their other sites they've done also seem to have a nice looking mobile platform, does that come with it ?

Have you got a list of features which are unique to that platform ? Over just using something like :

http://themeforest.net/item/jobify-wordpress-job-board-theme/5247604

which is pretty comprehensive ? Interested to see what makes their setup better as it the above has bolt ons to import from Indeed and all sorts

ok yes it comes with a mobile platform just checked. The site can only be hosted with them though as they have control over the back end coding/development etc.

It uses paypal for payment.

I'm just pointing the url to their hosting so the site can be finished and live on the jobday.co.uk name then they will finish the mobile version once the main site is complete.

So people are going to buy a site they are effectively renting? You don't seem to know too much about it?

Don't think that's the case or they wouldn't have sold all the other jobsites they have would they.

I presume they have to host it due to the updates requires as things progress, though I'm no developer.

You might need to post all the details as people won't buy it as they won't own it will they? The developers will.

I'm not too sure where the 3k has gone :(

Yes this is the problem I had in using white label software and job board developers. They all required to host the website themeselves and then charged a lot for rental. It doesn't really sound like you know much about this if you had to check it if had a mobile platform.

@AdamH, the Jobify theme is quite good and handles all payments, but as Mark said the advantage of using this development service is it's usually integrated with major job posting networks, which provides a greater source of income. Yes Jobify provides indeed imports etc but there's very little money in this.

Yeah ive used the theme before although never got around to buying the modules like indeed, to be honest i thought the only way of getting revenue from it was importing indeed as a backfill to make the site look busy and then get new members to sign up and pay for listings , i didnt realise there were other major job networks which you could earn revenue from. Although having said that i never looked into it properly, i set up the theme and then left it sitting there for about 6 months lol.

Just spotted this at the top of this page (bolding is mine):
