Here we go, here it came.

They did like many of you from what I read on this forum and other dedicated to domains.

I received this morning the now famous "David Thorpe"' No sale No game email.

And your account is closed !

Of course, just before proceeding to last month payment amounting over 600 Euros.

The irony of that is, this morning, I was just about to add an extra 200 unparked domains to Sedo.

Well, nevermind for that.

I am not bothered of not being able to use Sedo anymore: as stats, response time and all the rest were way behind. (a good example being the recent post about the co.co.uk ).

What tears me is their "bandit" methods:

- one email coming out of the blue without a line mentionning "if this is an error, please contact Sedo"...nothing like that.
- an email carefully sent just before sending payment for last month.

And as I said, after visiting many forums on the subject, they always have the same strategy. And I wonder how much they stole from domainers in total with this method. Anyone knows ?

Well done Sedo. 600 Euros, I can live without.

Keep treating people like that...and good luck. (I was about to write Customer...but it is not even that, I should have written Mugs as it seem that it is only what we are with Sedo)

PS. I have been with Sedo since 2004

Not as I know of.

I spend lot of time reading this forum and other. So I am aware of what NOT to do.

I am always extremely careful not to click on my own pages when checking configuration and all.

I can copy past the email I received. It is the same one that we have already seen here.

They mention the no sale no game thing, and indeed some suspicious traffic but with no data backing it up.

I am the one who asked here how I could have dodgy 900% CTR (with another Parker).

And I am one who already suspected Sedo bad practices and play with statistics. I wrote to them few months ago asking them why 3 distincts domains:
- medical
- game
- gastronomy

could see a massive drop in viewing (90% down), click, and Epc (from 0.20 euros to 0.02) all on the same day ?

I received no answers from them...only to see the figures pick up again few days ago when my emails was probably read.

Hi there,

Your account was suspended for fake traffic. David sent you several emails (one of which you responded to) asking to explain the traffic patterns (which you did not). The emails were sent 5 Dec 2006, 9 January 2007, and 6 March 2007, so the email today informing you that your account was closed did not necessarily come out of the blue.

Faking traffic completely undermines the whole parking industry. It causes advertisers to put less clout in advertising, which drags down revenue. Thus, when we see suspect traffic, we suspend accounts. However, with the previous 2 emails, I would say fair warning was given beforehand.

Kind regards,

Brad

Hello Brad,

Thanks for your prompt reply regarding this matter. It would have been great to see Sedo's proactivity in the last few weeks too regarding the auction problem, ISP page display problem and more.

You mention two emails sent by David.

My responses to him are in my "sent folders". So your emails have not been ignored, and I replied asap, as it was also a concern to me as mentioned in my post. (On this forum or dnforum, I believe that a problem of email not reaching your customer was mentionned. So when taking such drastic measures and knowing your emails problem, you should have probably opted to give me a call, you have my details. A phone call when a few hundreds euros are involved is not much to ask.)

In one of my email and in the post today, I mentioned the strange stats provided by Sedo. To the date, I have not received responses neither.

With thanks

Regards
