One thing to think about when it comes to multi-site vs multiple installs is that (I think) the former binds you to hosting everything in the same place.
Now that’s neither here nor there when you get started but as you grow you might want to spread hosting the various sections around a bit (for IP diversity, to protect against a hacker taking down all the network of “sites” in one go, etc.) Or even to be able to move a particularly busy, popular site onto a more performing hosting platform.
So not a massive consideration, but at least worth mentioning.
