transfering domains to nominet tag

I'm looking to join Nominet in the next week or so and would like to transfer all my domains to my tag.

I have around 400 with one registrar, I believe it is a one off cost to do so £12.50+vat, is this correct and if so how is it carried out.

Look for "TAG RELEASE" or other similarly named option in the current registrar's control panel. There is no cost to the registrar to release a name to a new TAG.

If the current registrar charges or is unable to transfer the domains, you can login to your Nominet account for the domains and request a TAG change this way, but as you point out, there is a £10+vat charge, you should also read the T&C's for your current registrar to ensure there are no related fees
