Just wondering how you push a domain to another TAG, I know it's free but no idea how to do it. Any help appreciated, cheers. Both parties are Nominet members and I have received domains no problem once adding the registrants name but unsure how to push the domain to another party.

It's the Release option in Web Domain Manager - this is free. Not sure where Katch got the impression that it's not. A tag change is not a transfer.

Action for person releasing the tag to someone else's tag:

Open Online Services > Click on Web Domain Manager > Scroll down to your domains list and Tick the box next to the specified domain / click on that domain name > the View Domain page comes up - Click on release box, and in the Tag box, type in the Tag you want the domain to go to > Confirm > Done.

Action for the person receiving the domain to their tag:

Open Online Services > Click on Tag Settings > scroll down to Registry Options > against Handshake options, ensure you've chosen 'Always accept change of registrar to your tag'.

When the releasing person has done their bit, the domain will almost immediately appear in the list of domains in the receiving person's Web Domain Manager.

I'll leave someone else to define how you change the Registrant's Name. I can't remember if/how you do that, unless you carry out a transfer.

nb: you may need to add the Registrant's name to your 'Connected Names' list first on the Tag Settings page, if your unconnected Registrant names exceed 5% of total domains on your Tag. Otherwise the Tag change may not go through.

#1 Seller

Go to WEB DOMAIN MANAGER > MANAGE DOMAINS and TICK the BOX of the domain(s) on the left hand side and then RELEASE which is above the domain list, towards the middle/left.

Enter the TAG HOLDER name and complete the process. The BUYER now has 'registrar' control of the domain, but at this stage, not 'registrant' control.

If you experience any issues, you may need to add the new registrant as a CONNECTED NAME in the TAG SETTINGS section

#2 Buyer

Go to WEB DOMAIN MANAGER > MANAGE DOMAINS and the domain(s) will show, but in the sellers registrant details.

TICK the BOX of the domain(s) on the left hand side and then TRANSFER which is above the domain list, towards the right.

From there, select ENTER REGISTRANT, click CHOOSE EXISTING, click SEARCH to bring back your full contact list, select the one you want and complete the process.

If you experience any issues, you may need to add the current registrant as a CONNECTED NAME in the TAG SETTINGS section first (then remove after transfer is complete).

Ian, is the buyer charged (£10 + VAT) for that TRANSFER action?

Does this method change the Registrant name, or only the name of the Contact?

Not if you are both self-managed tags. No charge to do it this way. You can change every part of the registrant information.

Thanks everyone for your help :)

Katch not sure what you mean high as a kite, it's a straight forward question and to someone who is new to both Nominet and catching domains it's not something that's straightforward (having a self managed TAG after a few attempts evening paying for the transfer several times and it failing I was told by Nominet directly you need to add the existing registrants name to your contacts list) Anyway whatever floats your boat.

He edited his misinformed original post, to let you that know that the reason he was misinformed is because he was high as a kite.
