Do twitter mind people using their name in domains?

Yes, they do mind, just the other day I read a cease and desist email from twitter to someone who made a Twitter app for unfollowing people, Twitter wanted them to cease using the apps domain name which had the word Twitter in it, so they had to get a new domain and rename themselves tweet something or other.

There is no problem or trademark issue for twitter because this website indirectly helps people connect and use twitter.
As long as you are not using their trademark for anything which disrupts the core idea and use of the twitter app.
This website provides twitter buttons and icons so any newbie or anyone looking for some colorfull buttons/cons for thier website.

Read a recent court case about FB suing a well know domain company .If you read the airtcle there are websites Eg: allfacebook.com which has all Fb related info and facebook doesnt have a problem with that, this is teh same case with my website cause it intends no harm to twitter.

From Twitter page regarding use of the marks and use of the word Twitter in domain names:

http://support.twitter.com/entries/77641

Naming your Application or Product, Applying for a Domain

We understand that you want your application or product that enhances the Twitter experience to be identifiable as part of the Twitter ecosystem. This is important to us too, but Twitter is also the name of our service and company, so we're cautious about potential confusion.

Do:

1. Name your website, product, or application with something unique. Uses of Tw-, and Twit- are generally okay with us.

2. Feel free to include language on your site explaining that your application is built on the Twitter platform so people understand your product.

3. Use Tweet in the name of your application only if it is designed to be used exclusively with the Twitter platform.

Don't:

1. Use Twitter in the name of your website or application.

2. Use just "Tweet" or "Tweet" with a simple letter or number combination (for example, 1Tweet, Tweet, Tweets).

3. Register a domain containing twitter (or misspellings of twitter).

4. Apply for a trademark with a name including Twitter or Tweet (or similar variations thereof).

5. Use Tweet in the name of your application if used with any other platform.

Might be an idea to ditch the domain and register something like freetwiticons.co.uk which is available to register, and rehost your site on that, and which is useable and acceptable to them as they don't mind domain names with the word twit in them, or if you prefer .coms then similar to your current domain is twiticonsfree.com and freetwiticons.com, again, both are available to register at the time of posting

Thanks for the info, there are similiar sites like mean which have been around for a while and i did check with them and they have not received or had any infractions from twitter .Here are some sites twittermysite.com, twitterbuttons.com,twitterflash.net .
As long as i dont offer just the domain for sale or i use the site for any other purpose i dont see a problem from twitter about my site.
