PGP is a piggin' nit mare, mine still dont work like how it should. The other day I logged into a server that I used to test GNUPG on a while back and someone had uploaded an IRC bot into it.

Not sure if it was a due to a problem GNUPG.

Try writing some code using our new, but very basic so far, open source PGP library openpgp.nominet.org.uk. Then let us know how it went as we want to improve this in future.
